The Highlander JV team is off to an impressive start. Entering the Christmas break 13-2, the JV squad is hoping to build on momentum created in 2011 as the new year begins. The group's defense has been particularly impressive, allowing an opponent to score more than 40 only once in the past 6 games. The Highlanders also received a preview of how tough district competition will be this year when they faced Kingwood on Saturday of the Spring ISD tournament. The squad erased a fourth quarter 8 point deficit and earned a tough 4 point win over a Kingwood squad they will face twice more this season.
