The 2011-2012 Highlander Sophomore team is off to a great start to the season.  The Sophomores are going into the Holiday Break with an overall record of 11-0 and a mark of 1-0 in district play.  The season to date has been highlighted by a championship in the Oak Ridge Tournament and an impressive win at Elkins.  The Highlander Sophomores have rolled over the competition to date by playing an aggressive defense that ignites an explosive offense.  This is all made possible by every player putting in quality minutes in practice and in every game.  Having such a deep roster allows every player to play all out when their opportunity is presented.  

         Looking forward to the second half of the season, the sophomore team is preparing for a very tough district schedule.  In order to prepare for this, the Highlanders will continue to work on improving everyday in practice on individual fundamentals and team concepts.  The team fully understands that they can never become complacent as players and as a team.  They are all looking forward to finishing this season strong and becoming well rounded as players and as a team to help contribute in the coming years to the Highlander Basketball Program.
